Blue Angels and Pumpkins

A few weeks ago we had the chance to go to the Blue Angels show. John was beyond thrilled. I was excited too, but didn't really know what to expect. The husband of my sister-in-law's best friend is one of the Blue Angel pilots. Hope you were able to follow that "Kevin Baconish" connection. Turns out I enjoyed the show as much as John. It was truly one of the most amazing things to watch. I do not understand how they do it. At some points during the show they are only flying 4 feet apart from one another! That is crazy! Check out their schedule here and go to one of the shows if they are ever in your area.

Frank is the pilot for #5

We also hit up the pumpkin patch the same weekend. Caroline didn't really know what to think, but I think she had a good time looking at all the people and pumpkins!

Auburn

We headed down to the beautiful plains this weekend with my family. It is not possible to express how much I love Auburn - the town, the university, the people, the football! Everytime we drive into town, I ask John if we can move there one day. I would love to say we go to Auburn every weekend, but right now I am grateful all my family can at least go to one game all together because I know that might not be possible one day.

Months ago we picked AU/LSU game so my fam could be here to celebrate C's bday too. Little did we know it would be one of the biggest games this season with two teams undefeated and in the top 10.

Just incase you have been in hiding this week and didn't know, Auburn won! And I won't say this more than once, but it is sweet to be ranked #1 too! :) If there are any of you readers out there who have never been to Auburn, please tell me. I will take you because you must go!

This pic was too good not to share. Thanks ESPN.

The Party

Sunday we had a little family party for Caroline. It was a lot of fun and even though Caroline didn't enjoy the attention from singing "happy birthday" I think she still enjoyed the cake. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

one

Happy 1st birthday baby girl! Tuesday was Caroline's birthday. John and I love to reminisce memories and thinking back to labor, delivery, the sweet time in the hospital and all the joys and changes over the last year was very special for us this week. Our lives changed forever on that day. I had no idea how much LOVE I could have for my child. Life seems more rich and full with C. There have been many tough days, sleepless nights, and overwhelmed feelings, but by God's grace with that came growth as a woman, a mom, in our marriage, the blessing of a healthy child, and many wonderful times too!

Caroline is funny. She is shy and outgoing when she feels comfortable. She is decisive and knows exactly what she wants and does not want. She is pleasant and so easy to take along and be on the go with. She is not in a hurry. She moves at her own pace when she is ready. She loves her sleep, OH how she loves to sleep. She loves music and loves to dance (even to a cell phone ringing). She is so expressive. You can always know how she is feeling by the look on her face. Caroline, we love you more than you could ever know and cannot wait to learn more about you as you continue to grow and change. We have loved celebrating your life this week!

Friday Favorite...on Saturday

I realize this blog is mostly dedicated to the celebration of birthdays, weddings, and babies, but that is the stage of life we are in and I love it. In just a couple days we will be celebrating the biggest birthday in our family this year. Baby girl turns 1! I cannot keep from getting sentimental looking back at pics and remembering what we were doing this weekend last year. So, while I do not like this picture of myself, I love the moment it captures.
This picture was taken one year ago today. 10 days away from my due date. Little did I know I would be in labor the next day. John had just put the car seat in our car and my friend, Erin, snapped a few pictures of us and I am so grateful she did. Our expressions say it all...carefree, nervous, clueless, and excited!

Bear with me this week as there will likely be several birthday posts to come!

Weekends: Part 2

I am so behind in my posts it is embarrassing, but better late than never I guess. So here goes another recap...

In September, we attended the most fun birthday party! It was for a 2 year old, but I think all the adults had just as much fun as the kiddos. The weather could not have been more perfect and it was a treat to get out of the city and celebrate at a farm. The birthday boy's mama happens to be incredibly talented and she designed and created the whole theme herself. The whole thing was precious. The kids could not have been happier looking at all the animals (I failed to get pictures of this), the moon walk (do people still call it that?) and taking rides in the 4-wheeler.
The birthday boy so excited!

We had to wait and put the little ones in when the big kids were finished and they loved it!
