1 month stats and a smile

Annie had her one month check up last week.  At one month, she weighed 9lbs. 11oz. and was 22.5 in.  Ironically, the exact same height and weight as Caroline at one month.

She has been a very sweet and chill baby thus far.  She is typically content during her awake time which is a blessing. I have learned you just can't always tend to the needs of a second baby like you can with the first.  So, Annie is a trooper when big sister's demands come first sometimes.

Annie loves the swing.  I do not know why I never had a swing with Caroline, but it is one of my best friends these days. She is not a fan of baths at all.  And sleeping, well, we are working on it.  We have had our days and nights confused some.  Other times we are just a fussy mess at night which makes for an exhausted mama.  Despite some sleepless nights though we are loving our time with Miss Annie in our family.  Thankful for a healthy and growing baby little girl.

And lastly, she has been giving us some grins the last couple weeks and I was able to catch one on my phone.  Nothing better than when they start smiling back at you!

Annie's First Month

Annie hit the 1 month mark this past week and I truly think the last month has been the fastest of my life.     In some ways it seems like Annie has been with us forever.  We do not go to the doctor for her check-up until next week, so I will have to post her stats later.  Until then, here are some pictures of the last month.

2011 Part 1

At the beginning of a new year I love to reflect on the past year and also look ahead at the coming year.  We have kind of started a little tradition of doing this each year for our family.  We got married in '07 and started this in '08.  We go on a new years date each year.  I look forward to the girls being able to join us in this tradition one day.  It has been so good for us and I think they could benefit from it too when they are old enough.

Each year we like to journal prayers, miracles, goals, etc for the upcoming year.  So, then the next year (on our date), we are able to sit down and reflect on those we set a year earlier.  It is amazing to see how God worked in our lives that year, what was good, what was really hard, what prayers were answered, and what things we might still be praying for in the year to come.

And the last couple years I have done a short recap of the year on the blog.   Not so much of the things we are journaling and praying for, but just some highlights of activity in pictures.  So, here is the first part of the year for our family.

Reality, New Years, and a Haircut

Well, we are adjusting to our new normal around here with 2 babies.  John has been back to work this week and I am trying to get into a routine day to day with both girls.  Some days are easier than others.   Many days I just have to laugh at the end of the day.

My first day with both went something like this: We had two friends come to visit. 1 poop explosion all over me and Annie. 1 meltdown/time out for Caroline. Only 30 minutes all day of TV for Caroline (I honestly thought I would need it more and probably will many days - don't judge).  I didn't eat lunch until 3:15pm, but I did manage to sit and eat it alone!  30 minutes of peace and quiet was more than expected.  Oh, and I never managed to get Caroline dressed all day.  It was a pajama kind of day!

In other news, John and I actually got a date last weekend.  We spent New Years eve at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl to watch Auburn play against Virginia.  John took Caroline to fanfest during the day.  She had a blast looking for the Chick-Fil-A cow and watching the Auburn band play.

I could just eat up her cute little legs in this picture!

We had a great night with Mark and Kristen and spending a few hours away from little ones.  Oh, and Auburn won!  Thank you mom for babysitting!

New Years Day, my friend Anne, also known as, "Annie" was in town and came to meet little Annie!

And this week, we FINALLY took Caroline to get her first real haircut.  She was in desperate need of a good trim and shaping up a bit.  And thankfully, those sweet curls in the back are still there!
