Fall Favorites

Not too much going on here. Just playing lots and lots these days. The pantry is baby girl's current favorite spot in the house. Please excuse all the junk stuffed in there with her!

We are loving getting into the fall season even if the cooler weather is not quite here yet. The 80s seem much better than the 90s or 100 degree temps. Caroline's mother's morning out at church began a couple weeks ago which means I have a little peace and quiet every Tuesday. And it means I can share with you some things I have been loving lately.

1. Palmetto Pimento Cheese. I didn't even think I liked pimento cheese until I tried this stuff.

It is the perfect little snack with a few crackers.

3. FNL. John and I are addicted to this show and have been most of the summer. We just started watching season 4. Think small town high school football and a little drama and this is your show. Plus Coach Taylor (below) is about the cutest thing on television.

4. Literally, a spoonful

Check out this recipe blog. I do not know who this girl is or how I came across the blog but she has some great recipes. The chicken delight and crock pot bbq are wonderful! I am currently looking for something on it to make tonight too.

Happy Birthday

Happy 1st birthday to my blog! I started this blog and made my first post exactly a year ago. It has been a crazy fast year and the time only seems to go by faster. I had no idea what I would do with this blog but I have really enjoyed it. It is good for me to put down my thoughts sometimes and a great way to capture our memories as a family. I have already enjoyed looking back at some old posts and honestly had to go back to some old posts to remember when things happened. And most of all, I love reading others' blogs. I never thought I would say I learn things from blogs, but I do! I am not a huge technology person but I do love the blog world. So, hopefully we will keep the blogging up in year 2 as well!

Oh Mondays

I am getting really excited about warm weather (see more below) and so I tried Caroline's bathing suit on her. How cute is that bum bum?

Loves to be snuggled in that car seat these days. I think the hat is getting a little small though.

We nap in the stroller. Gotta do whatever works sometimes. Oh, I could just eat up those cheeks!

Caroline woke up at 5am this morning and John and I couldn't sleep anymore either. My mind has been racing ever since...

• Someone Egged our car last night - What in the world? People still do that? Yes, apparently. I guess we will not leave it parked on the street anymore.
• We are starting week 3 of Caroline all of a sudden refusing to take naps. I am letting her cry it out everyday - only she never falls asleep. Can you say strong- willed child? Yikes. It is sad and miserable for both of us. I have not idea what to do about it!
• John graduates 2 months from today. Wow! That was a very quick 2 years. Time is flying!
• I am so glad spring is making a little debut with warmer weather. Caroline and I have been on walks everyday for the last week for over an hour. Probably one of my favorite parts of the day by far. I have even worn shorts a couple times. Ahh...I love warm weather!
• Call me crazy - I am calling today to cancel our cable. I have been feeling convicted lately that we watch too much TV at night and we feel it is too expensive and something we do not really need. I have been threatening to do this for a while now. We did this the first 6 months of marriage and it was wonderful. Now, when football season starts back up it might be a different story.
• I really should be working right now!

I am not sure what spurred this random post, but happy Monday anyway!

Face Lift

I was very clueless with the whole blogging world at first, but as I am becoming more familiar, I felt like it might be time for a little "up do" on the Phelps page. Not sure what I think about this new background - it might be a little strong for me and I cannot decide if it is too hard to read the light blue writing (I am sure my mom will let me know if the reading with these colors is too difficult)!

All that to say, bare with me as we might be under construction here for a few days. Fill free to give any input!
