1,2,3,4...

Months, that is. I have been taking a picture of Caroline each month in the same place to see how she is growing and changing. I have also been writing down little things she likes, dislikes, etc. I need to document it on here for myself before I loose the pieces of paper! I am already starting to forget little things in the beginning. So, I am sorry if this is boring to everyone but me and my mom.

1 Month
9lbs 11oz and 22.25 in.

-sleeps about 5-6 hour stretch at night
-beginning to coo
-first smile
-fussy in the evenings
-can focus on objects/people upclose

Likes:
-being swaddled
-sleep
-to look at lights or anything bright or contrasting colors

Dislikes:
-the carseat, bouncey, and swing

2 Months

11 lbs 9oz and 24.25 in.

-sleeps 8-9 hours at night
-makes eye contact
-smiles more consistently

Likes:
-sleep
-bath time
-being swaddled

Dislikes:
-carseat, bouncey, swing

3 Months

(Don't know her stats here since we only go to the dr. every 2 months now)

-sleeps 11-12 hours at night
-can see much farther distances
-sucks her fingers all the time
-no swaddle
-takes about 3 short naps
-smiles lots

Likes:
-to stare at anything – especially people and the aisles in the grocery store
-stroller/going for walks
-carseat, bouncey and swing (finally)!
-to coo and make noises

Dislikes:
-Bumbo
-nap time

4 Months
13 lbs 7oz and 25.25 in.

-giggles
-rubs her eyes when sleepy
-sucks her thumb now too
-scratches face (have to cut fingernails at least twice a week)
-rolled over from tummy to back

Likes:
-to look at hands and feet
-touch things
-Praise Baby
-being held

Dislikes:
-Naps
-Tummy time

The Rat Tail

This post makes me laugh even as I type it. Caroline has grown quite a little tail in the back of her head since she was born. We have laughed and laughed about her "rat tail" even though it has driven me crazy! I have been wanting to cut it so badly! Finally last night we did it! Just a quick little snip with the scissors.

They're Married!

This weekend my cousin Kristen married our good friend Mark. We enjoyed having time with both friends and family mixed together. The weather could not have been more perfect (especially for a winter wedding in NC). Really, the weekend was truly a beautiful celebration. I think that is the best way to describe it.

Valentine's

John and I both think Valentine's day can be pretty cheesy- a fun excuse to celebrate though! This morning we somehow started recapping some Valentine's days in the past. It was crazy to see how much our lives have changed over the last 5 six years and the different stages of life we were in each year. So, here it goes:

2005:
-I am studying abroad in Italy
-We have only been dating 8 months
-John sends me these roses
-I love that he sent yellow and not red...made it seem a little less Valentiney (I'm sure that is not a word)
-I am on cloud nine that this boy got in touch with a florist in the tiny town of Ariccia, Italy

2006:
-I am a junior at Auburn and come up to Atlanta early and surprise John at breakfast
-That night he cooks me dinner
-He gave me a pair of running shoes and decorated/wrapped this shoebox. It's "bless your heart" sweet, isn't it? :)

2007:
-3 days before our wedding
-We are in Birmingham
-We go to brunch together before going to get our marriage license and starting the wedding weekend

2008:
-First married Valentine's
-We went on a trip for our 1 year anniversary
-So we go to Maggiano's for a free dinner (gift card from Xmas)

2009:
-John is in grad school and studies all day
-We grab pizza for dinner
-Go to a Robert Earl Keen concert with Mark and Kristen
-I tell John, "I think I'm pregnant!"

2010:
-brunch with the little munchkin!

Snow Day!

I know everyone is dying to see another picture of all this wonderful snow in the south. So, here is the Phelps house this weekend. We are hoping for more tonight and tomorrow! Hope everyone has had a relaxing winter weekend.
