Happy Birthday BB&G!

This weekend we went to see the triplets for their 1st birthday! 

Annie's first flight and she was a champ.

Thank goodness for the ipad and Curious George.

I can hardly believe it has been a whole year since these little ones were born!

We surprised my brother Friday afternoon when all 4 of us came running up the stairs arriving for the weekend.  He is a hard one to surprise, but I think we pulled it off pretty well!

The party was precious.  Linsey and Christian did a great job decorating and hosting everyone.  Several of the triplets' nurses from the NICU came to the party too.  It was so wonderful to see some of them again (not in the hospital) and meet the others.

What a blessing it was to celebrate these three lives last weekend and the incredible journey the Lord has carried them through already.    

Finally Home

4.5 months later, all three of these munchkins (my nieces and nephew) are finally home from the hospital.  Bates joined the girls at home last Thursday.

These are some of their first pictures together and they bring tears to my eyes.  There were many days that they thought of having all three home seemed like a dream.  They are strong and healthy now and have fought hard.  They are all living examples of the Lord's work and faithfulness.

I have been away for the past week helping take care of these precious little babies.  Gracie and I have had lots of good bonding time and I got some cuddle time with Brooklyn and Bates at the hospital too.  I am headed home today and will miss them all.  I know they will have changed so much and be so big whenever I see them next.  Very excited to get home to my baby girl though!

Little B

I have written this post several times and haven't had a chance to come back and finish because there are more updates each time I sit down. My niece, Brooklyn (one of triplets), has been very sick this week.

Brooklyn was doing great until Monday night when she developed something called NEC. This is an infection in the intestines. After rounds of antibiotics that didn't seem to be helping, the infection caused a perforation in her intestines. Wednesday afternoon B had a short operation that doctors hoped would help to relieve some of the pain and swelling. The doctors hoped this would also allow Brooklyn sometime to gain strength for a major surgery on Friday.

Brooklyn had a very rough night (Thursday) which led the doctors to perform emergency surgery this morning. Brooklyn made it through the surgery. There are NO explanations how or why she did...except the Lord. They removed 12 cm of dead intestine. The infection is still in her intestines but the doctors are hopeful the antibiotics should be able to work better with the dead part removed. The next 24 to 48 hours are critical. Her vitals all need to improve and she needs to be able to show she is doing some recovering on her own.

We are rejoicing right now in the miracle of what the Lord has brought Brooklyn through this week. Christian and Linsey have an amazing story. From the beginning, they have claimed God is bigger than what any doctor says, He is in control and He has all these children in his hands. Praise the Lord!

Please continue to pray for Bates, Gracie, and specifically for Brooklyn right now.

Miracles

Welcome to the world, triplets!

On Friday, April 1, these sweet babies (my nieces and nephew) were born:

Bates Thomas arrived at 7:34pm - 2 lbs 13oz

Brooklyn Leigh arrived at 7:35pm - 2lbs 7oz

Grace ("Gracie") Almon arrived at 7:37pm - 2lbs 6oz

They are precious, tiny and doing very well!

We are so grateful.

Diaper Cake. I am not typically a crafty person, but I was proud of myself for googling instructions on how to make this practical gift and decoration. Turned out pretty well and they got 100 diapers out of it!

Shower 1

The last two weekends we have had baby showers for Linsey and Christian. Both were wonderful and have made this seem so much more real. Cannot believe these little triplets will be here in just a couple months. I will let the pictures speak for themselves in these posts.

I thought you had to get a lot of stuff for one baby until I saw how much you need for 3!

Friday Favorite/Big News!

I have not done a Friday Favorite picture in a while but this the just the right one for this week. My brother, Christian, and his wife, Linsey (pictured below in the middle) are expecting TRIPLETS! Yep, Count 'em 1,2,3! I could not be more excited! I cannot wait to be an aunt and I cannot think of anyone better than C & L to be parents to 3 at once. It is ALOT to take on and I know the Lord has chosen them specifically for these three little blessings. The babies are due late spring/early summer and all very healthy right now. Please pray for continued health for Linsey and the babies. Happy weekend everyone!
