Reality, New Years, and a Haircut

Well, we are adjusting to our new normal around here with 2 babies.  John has been back to work this week and I am trying to get into a routine day to day with both girls.  Some days are easier than others.   Many days I just have to laugh at the end of the day.

My first day with both went something like this: We had two friends come to visit. 1 poop explosion all over me and Annie. 1 meltdown/time out for Caroline. Only 30 minutes all day of TV for Caroline (I honestly thought I would need it more and probably will many days - don't judge).  I didn't eat lunch until 3:15pm, but I did manage to sit and eat it alone!  30 minutes of peace and quiet was more than expected.  Oh, and I never managed to get Caroline dressed all day.  It was a pajama kind of day!

In other news, John and I actually got a date last weekend.  We spent New Years eve at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl to watch Auburn play against Virginia.  John took Caroline to fanfest during the day.  She had a blast looking for the Chick-Fil-A cow and watching the Auburn band play.

I could just eat up her cute little legs in this picture!

We had a great night with Mark and Kristen and spending a few hours away from little ones.  Oh, and Auburn won!  Thank you mom for babysitting!

New Years Day, my friend Anne, also known as, "Annie" was in town and came to meet little Annie!

And this week, we FINALLY took Caroline to get her first real haircut.  She was in desperate need of a good trim and shaping up a bit.  And thankfully, those sweet curls in the back are still there!

Nashville and Auburn

A few weeks ago Caroline and I headed to Nashville for a girls weekend with Mary Brantley and Erin. It is safe to say C partied hard with the girls and was completely exhausted by Sunday. Totally worth it though! It is such a blessing to me having wonderful friends not only love me, but love my child just as much.

Dinner and live band...
turned into dance party.

Up way too late!
And last week, JP and I finally got our weekend away. We wanted quality time together, to sleep in Saturday morning and eat good food. JP planned a weekend for us in Auburn. I know you are all shocked I would love a weekend in Auburn! Besides going to football games, we have not been back to Auburn since I was in school and we were dating. We have so many great memories in this little town. We hit up Big Blue, Amsterdam's, J&M, a jog through campus, afternoon naps, and a little shopping. Simple. Low-key. Perfect.

Celebration and Signing Day

In honor of National Signing Day today I thought I would post our pics from Auburn a couple weeks ago. We headed to the plains for the day to celebrate the National Championship...along with 78,000 other Auburn fans. It was awesome! A perfect trip for Caroline to enjoy as well. And we had plenty of time to hit up our favorite local spots: Big Blue, Toomers, J & M, Samford, and just strolling through campus. Ok, promise to not post too much more on Auburn until the fall, but gosh I just love this place!! War Eagle!

snow day

I have been on a blogging hiatus. I have to take these periodically. This time I have had the January blues. The holidays ended too quickly. I loved having family around, John at home and nothing to do. It was a quick jump back to reality as John headed to CA for work all last week. BUT, today was just the day I needed. A snow day AND the National Championship game is tonight!!! It has been a perfect day playing in snow, sitting by the fire and watching all the pre-game on our Auburn tigers!!

WAR EAGLE!!!!!!

Be back soon with our 2010 recap!

Auburn

We headed down to the beautiful plains this weekend with my family. It is not possible to express how much I love Auburn - the town, the university, the people, the football! Everytime we drive into town, I ask John if we can move there one day. I would love to say we go to Auburn every weekend, but right now I am grateful all my family can at least go to one game all together because I know that might not be possible one day.

Months ago we picked AU/LSU game so my fam could be here to celebrate C's bday too. Little did we know it would be one of the biggest games this season with two teams undefeated and in the top 10.

Just incase you have been in hiding this week and didn't know, Auburn won! And I won't say this more than once, but it is sweet to be ranked #1 too! :) If there are any of you readers out there who have never been to Auburn, please tell me. I will take you because you must go!

This pic was too good not to share. Thanks ESPN.

Tiny Tiger

Ready for the first game tomorrow. War Eagle!

Auburn is so much more than a city or a school or a team or a degree. It is something that, once you have experienced it, will live inside of you forever and become a part of what makes up who you are...

It's Coming

While it may still be 95 degrees outside, believe it or not, that time of year is coming and Jordan Hare will look like this in just a month.
Fall is not necessarily one of my favorite seasons for the cool weather or beautiful changing leaves, but for the FOOTBALL!

13auburnfriends

Last weekend, 13auburnfriends had a reunion in Fairhope, AL at Turner's bay house. Really, there were just 12 this time, but Anne was truly missed! I love those friendships and we have such a blast together.
Our weekend consisted of screaming excitement upon arrival, late nights, coffee on the porch, prank calling, lots of laughter, lunch at Mary Ann's, sitting in the sun, nonstop talking, Trussville chex mix, walks, Ivy's birthday, singing, pillow talk, boat rides, skiing, tubing, card games, thousands of pictures, diet coke, seafood, puppy chow, He's just not that into you, dancing, soaking up last minute sun, Gordo's, clean-up, and sad goodbyes until Mary B's wedding!

Jess (and others) captured the weekend with great pictures.]
